A thoughtful comment can really continue the conversation. I love to get comments my blog, because that means someone is reading my stuff and cares enough to interact with me. It's very motivating. And I like to do the same for others. Because I'm just nice like that. :) And because it creates more backlinks. I've been reading and commenting on blogs a lot in the last month, and I've really noticed the difference.
