Freeware Games main page

Site overview

Site has been up since 2006, and it has been bringing out an assorted list of diffrent game dowloads. There are no “purchase this” links found, which makes the site pop-out of the majority. Games are mostly downloadable pc games.

Games can be browsed via categories or either one by one. Below a sample page of what a game review looks like on the site.

Download Frets on Fire

Game amount and types

The game amount is not huge ~ 70. However, the site is more about quality than quantity, which is a good thing. Why add a million games, if 98% of them are crap.

Most of the games are downloadable pc games. Some work directly with windows, but some of the older games require you to use dosbox. For all you retrogamers dosbox is not a new thing.

Usability and Design

Desing is clean and sleak, but it could be polished.

No useless clutter and obtrusive ads.

Site is also quite easy to navigate.

Summary

The site is clean simple and easy to navigate. Games are rather old, but the focus is more on quality instead of quantity. Site is especially good for retrogamers who like the classics.

Pros

  1. Clean desing and no clutter
  2. No obtrusive ads

Cons

  1. Site has not been maintaned in a while and some newer games are missing.

If you liked the site, then go and visit freeware game downloads and download for your life :)
