Blog Post Scheduling Guide – Plan and Get More Done
This post is about what you need to schedule in order to be an efficient blogger. I am not that excellent in keeping my schedules 100%, however I am working on it
. This post is written just as much as a reminder for me as it is a guide for all you. Now I’ll start with the things that you should consider planning:
- Posting Interval
- Time for research
- Having a backlog of posts and ideas
- Time for interaction
- Planning for failures
Blog Post Interval
Have a preplanned blog posting interval. The keyword is preplanned. Do not try to wing it is much as I do. Make a decision right away to have a schedule. It may be every day, every other day or twice a day. Just make a decision and stick to it like glue.
When you have a preplanned schedule it forces you to stick to it. It even helps you to write beforehand if you have a fixed post interval. Read more of writing with the perfect post interval.
Plan for Failures
Guess what, you will not make all your deadlines and posting schedules. You may get sick or have something unexpected to mess around with your time table. That is why you should plan to fail sometimes and have a backup. You can do this by having a backlog of posts.
Post backlog
You should a have a backlog of posts for at least five days in the future. At this point I have zero. It means that I am basically screwed when I am too busy to update this blog. This is something that I am working on right now. The more posts you have pre-scheduled, the more leeway you have for unexpected events.
